About

FRINGE FIELD COLLECTIVE is a platform for collaborations between for researchers, cultural producers and activists, founded by A Horning, a criminologist and Sara Jordenö, a filmmaker and visual artist. Fringe field is a scientific term for the peripheral field outside of the center. This field can extend far beyond, and at times interfere with, the center. We use this as a metaphor for our focus on communities, social movements and hard to reach populations, who often exist in the margins but whose voices helps destabilize the center. Our recent projects concerns sex worker’s and refugee human rights, as well as the social movements that advocates for those rights. Our work is disseminated both in the fields of contemporary and film and in the Social Sciences.

WE ARE WORKING HARD ON NEW PROJECTS. THE SITE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION, with more active projects and collaborators to be added soon (October 2021) You can reach us at fringefieldcollective@gmail.com
